Rachel Davies

Rachel Davies has worked in early years and primary education for fifteen years, beginning her career as a nursery teacher before training as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO). She holds a BA in Education Studies from the University of Birmingham, a Level 5 SENCO qualification, and a specialist certificate in Dyslexia from the British Dyslexia Association.

Rachel has led Early Years provision in a number of settings and has a deep expertise in phonics, early reading, and supporting children with additional learning needs including dyslexia, dyscalculia, and speech and language difficulties. She is a trained Letters and Sounds Phase teacher and has supported schools through Ofsted inspections of their EYFS provision.

Rachel writes about early childhood education, phonics teaching, and supporting children who find learning challenging, with a focus on practical strategies parents and teachers can use at home and in the classroom.
