The Lost Kitten
Read the story
Lily was walking home from school when she heard a soft mewing sound coming from behind a bush. She pushed aside the branches and found a tiny grey kitten with bright green eyes. The poor thing was shivering and looked very hungry.
Lily carefully picked up the kitten and carried it home. Her mum helped her make a cosy bed from an old towel and they gave the kitten some warm milk. The next day, they put up posters around the neighbourhood with a photo of the kitten.
Three days later, an elderly lady named Mrs Wilson knocked on their door. Her eyes filled with tears of joy when she saw her beloved cat, Whiskers, safe and sound. She thanked Lily again and again for taking such good care of him.
